In November 2019, a shooting occurred at the Bank of America on Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City, resulting in injuries to two individuals. The assailant, later identified as Edwin Ruiz-Rosa, allegedly handed a teller a note demanding money and indicating possession of a firearm.
He fled the scene with a substantial sum of cash. A surveillance image and description led Officer Christopher Inman to Ruiz-Rosa within an hour. Despite changing his attire, Ruiz-Rosa was recognized from the surveillance footage. Upon his arrest, he was found in possession of a significant amount of money and four grams of cocaine.
Further investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department’s Street Crimes and Violent Crimes units connected Ruiz-Rosa to two additional robberies and the recent shooting. The details of these incidents were not specified in the available reports.
Ruiz-Rosa’s alleged accomplice, identified as Isa Salaam, was also implicated in a separate armed robbery. In February 2025, Salaam, 22, was wanted for his involvement in a robbery where he and other suspects assaulted and robbed a man at gunpoint. Detectives observed Salaam leaving his residence and entering a vehicle driven by Jailene Williams. A subsequent search uncovered a firearm, leading to Salaam’s arrest.
