On April 15, 2024, Governor Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency in New Jersey due to severe weather conditions impacting the region. In response, Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. convened a press conference to update residents on the city’s preparedness and safety measures
Mayor Small emphasized the city’s collaboration with state and federal emergency management agencies to ensure a coordinated response to the inclement weather. He reassured the public that the Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management was actively monitoring the situation and implementing necessary precautions to protect the community.
The mayor also highlighted the activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), located within the hurricane-resistant wing of the AtlantiCare Medical Center, to facilitate effective coordination during emergencies.
