In January 2020, a shooting occurred in Vineland, New Jersey, resulting in the critical injury of an 18-year-old woman. The incident took place inside a vehicle, and the victim was transported to Inspira Medical Center before being transferred to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.
Authorities reported that the bullet entered through her upper arm and lodged in her chest. Vineland police detectives, along with the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, conducted interviews with witnesses and the victim as part of the ongoing investigation.
Robert Blakely III, a 21-year-old Division III football player from Millville, was later charged in connection with the shooting. He faced charges of attempted murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Blakely was arrested and held at the Cumberland County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
