In January 2025, an early morning fire in Pleasantville, New Jersey, displaced 14 residents and resulted in one injury. Firefighters responded to a blaze on West Washington Avenue around 1:16 a.m., where they encountered smoke and flames emanating from a second-floor window. The fire was brought under control by approximately 1:48 a.m., with one individual sustaining injuries and being transported to a local hospital by Tricare EMS. No firefighter injuries were reported. Assisting fire companies included those from Absecon, Northfield, Linwood, and the South Jersey Transit Authority. The Pleasantville Fire Department’s Investigation Unit is examining the cause of the fire, which is not deemed suspicious.
