On the evening of September 12, 2024, a tragic hit-and-run incident occurred on Route 30 near Seventh Avenue in Galloway Township, New Jersey.
Authorities reported that 33-year-old Angeletta Sheppard of Barnegat was struck by a vehicle while walking along the westbound shoulder of the highway. Despite efforts by emergency responders, Sheppard was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved in the collision fled on foot, leaving behind a silver Kia Optima. Local residents reported hearing commotion and seeing the driver abandon the vehicle before fleeing the area. At this time, the identity of the driver remains unknown, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is actively investigating the incident.
