Vineland Man Charged in Fatal Crash that Claimed ACPO Employee’s Life

Joseph J. Melini, 50, of Vineland, New Jersey, was charged with vehicular homicide following a fatal motorcycle accident on October 30, 2021, in Atlantic City. Melini was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle with passenger Naisha Peterson, 36, of Mays Landing, when they collided in the 300 block of Delaware Avenue. Peterson was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations revealed Melini was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Peterson was a valued member of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office (ACPO) support staff. Her colleagues fondly remembered her as a “phenomenal” individual who brightened the workplace with her positive spirit and kindness. ​

Please note that legal proceedings are ongoing, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
