In January 2020, an 18-year-old woman was critically injured in a shooting inside a vehicle in Vineland, New Jersey. The incident occurred in the Center City section, and the victim was transported to Inspira Medical Center before being transferred to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.

Robert Blakely III, a 21-year-old Division III football player from Millville, was later charged in connection with the shooting. He faced charges of attempted murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Blakely was arrested and held at the Cumberland County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
